I am building a table from scratch and it's my first time with DMDs. I have a problem I cant find anything about in the help file. Its a bit hard to explain, but basically one word on the DVD is suffering from some sort of lag. When the word appears half of it is missing, but when it finally centres its all there. Its worse when scolling sideways, half the letters arent shown until it centres. Scrolling up or down isnt as bad, but you can see the problem here:

Is there a command to fix this?

I take it you mean the the text "Logan's Run" appears broken as it rises up on the DMD. I don't know of a command to fix it. I think it has something to do with the sequence of the font frames. Someone that knows more about DMD fonts might be able to help more than I can. Maybe Gin?

As George eludes to - it appears (from the video) that it could be related to 'time' settings for the scrolling effects, and/or the possible use of the FlushQueue / FlushAnimation settings that are causing the stutter/lag... would have to view the code to possibly help out more; or Gimli could probably just pull out an answer? ;)

Also, just wondering if you have viewed / stripped apart the "DmdDisplayDemo.fpt" table that is available when installing Future Pinball? as this may help in conjunction with the manual with understanding the use of DMD/HUDs; along with a number of other DMD related FAQs available on the site.

Either way - happy to help out where (if) I can.

Gin

It may be the combo of blinking and scrolling?

Agree you should post the code
