I am still playing with the VR Room Happycab created...so I decided to try decorating the room with Polygame(AKA HappyCab) models and graphics just to test some the capabilities of BAM etc...
I am hoping to release some Tribute to 80's VR and ActionPin VR table mods at some point in the future...I hope Steve doesn't mind
Texture Swapping in BAM, has now enabled unlimited possibilities for FP Arcade Room Models see this thread: viewtopic.php?f=86&t=3249&start=1650
Here is the Demo Table if people want to try. Use "z,x,c,v,b" to swap demo textures. The table contains a cubemaptemplate ("cubemaptemplate3.jpg") to add your own textures. I used Online Image Splitter to split pictures into 4 seamless pieces for the "lagoon room" https://www.dropbox.com/s/xgv5b9x2l9son ... s.fpt?dl=0
I am trying to implement Multiplayer Mode and Save Table State Mode in Creatures and I am almost finished.
I decided to also try texture swapping in the arcade room of this table and it seems to work very well. I had to convert all the games room models to Toys instead of ornaments...
As you can gather from the above posts, there are numerous ways to add Room Models , objects and decor to FP. I have experimented with most of them and depending on your goals, each one has its benefits.
Simple front wall only is a common way to go, especially for desktop users or those with slow computers or those only concerned with playing the table
For those with VR systems however, the ability to create various virtual environments has great appeal and with BAM now the potential is unlimited.
It just dawned on me that there is an unlimited resourse of animated gifs on the internet, which are looping videos of just about everthing, movies, nature whatever. And these gifs can easily be extracted into jpg frames (I am using the free program IrfanView) and imported as textures into the imagelist manager to be used on overlays.
If you use BAM to rotate and magnify the overlays as walls, then you have unlimited options for the wall textures (animated or static)
Here is WIP VR mod of Batman Joker, where all the room walls are overlays
