"Unity Coming to Xbox One in 2014
Many developers have asked us about when Unity will be ready for Xbox One. Right now, all we can say is that it will see general availability in 2014. We hope to have more information to share around GDC! We’re also working out the process for getting you Xbox One pro seat licenses and codes for the add-in. We do know if you are working in Unity and planning to take your project to Xbox One, you should stick with 4.3 if possible, and not upgrade to 4.5. Unity for Xbox One is likely to jump from 4.3 directly to 5.0, so please be aware of this. As soon as we have any further updates on Unity we will let you know! "
Although this doesn't give much information, it's some nonetheless.

cool comparison, clearly FP and UP are the better of the 4.

I agree with you Hyperion, but of course, over on the VP forums they say just the opposite.

In the video, most beautiful are FP and TPA for me.
VP is the less beautiful and I am surprised that after all this time, the conceptors have failed to have more beautiful graphics.
It is just my opinion I do not say that to "denigrate" anyone, I am simply amazed. :?
Fp and Vp are incomparable about graphics, and for playability some physical FP is better too.

Quite the headache at the moment (if you ask me). First you need to design the table in FP. Then you need to convert it (meticulously) the script to c# to work with Unity and add the pinmame calls. THEN you might have a working FP table in Unity :) Sure sounds like a lot of work for 2 or 3 people on the Unity team. Sounds like they need a bigger team :)

Yep, it's complicated, but it's not really the problem.

I can't see the point of doing this only to have graphical enhancements (even if it's really pretty) and pinmame support when the physics is so "special" (to say the least): ball disappearing on top of holes, ball that accelerate furiously when it reaches the bottom of the table, strange bounces (or no bounces at all)... in its current state, the physics engine is behind the other 2 software (VP & FP). Pinball is meant to be played and they have focus on the graphical part (that's understandable, it is the fun part of the job).

I really hope they will focus on the physics from now on. I do hope it is feasible to tweak it because the physics engine is the one embedded in unity and it's an "all purpose" engine (not particularly optimized or intended for such small elements - it's focused for human sized element: 1 meter is not 1cm, and it changes a great deal).

Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing their work, it's an amazing job, I really do hope that all the effort and time spent will pay off. But in its current state it has precisely the issues we have stated when we were doing (ahem, it's more "when LvR was doing" ;) ) our/his engine

Agreed. They have stated that all elements I think are adjustable, so we will see. First thing for the physics that needs to be decent is flipper control, so if they can get that right, then hopefully the rest can be adjusted or modified.

I guess we will find out soon enough, I think within a couple of months they'll be out of beta into a first release.

Honestly at this point I'm looking more forward to the DX9/10 advancements of VP than Unity. Physics are still way off in Unity as it seems like a huge hassle at the moment to get tables going.
