There's at least another 2 + years left in the PS3, alone. They've already stated they would continue to support it, even after the next gen system comes out. Look at how they held up the PS2 after the PS3 release.
It's far from the "end of their life cycle."

irondragoon wrote: Really, they should be putting out the pc version before Xbox and PS3. Those systems are near the end of their life cycle. Why waste resources when the SDK can change when the next generation comes out? In the meantime the hardcore among us will have $800 in DLC installed in the companies bank account. It doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. It has nothing to do with that. They are not a publishing company. They are a game development company. They need publisher. It's a completely business decision that is not completely up to them to control. The games play in places where companies make it easy for people to be able to get them. I'm sure they would love their tables to play on PC, Blackberry, GBA, whatever, but if there is no way to get the game to those people, there is no point. They shouldn't just jump at the first publisher that comes their way either. They need to make a deal with the best PC publisher (Steam). The more people playing these tables, the better it is for everyone. Also, upgrading a Pinball table to the next generation system would be trivial. They would just use higher resolution images and models. They have stated that they want the PC versions to be as good or better than the console versions, and that is saying a lot. You can buy a video card that has better stats than a 360, but the games aren't going to perform better on it. On a console game, you can streamline the code to specific hardware. A PC game has to support every type of hardware. In order for that to happen, you need a much more powerful system than a 360 just to get similar results as a 360. I'm just saying, I can't see any reason to complain. The fact that they are even coding things specifically toward PC cabinets means the world to me. It shows that they want to create the best possible product, not just the most profitable product. If they were just whoring for cash, they would just be cranking out new, non-licensed, tables for the Apple app store, collecting a buck or two a million times over again and again.

I'm not planning on seeing any of the big budget tables such as Twilight Zone or Indiana Jones etc etc from FarSight. They're a really small team of devs with a small budget.
I actually suggested a kickstarter on their fan forum, which got luke warm responses with people saying they were waiting for FarSight to actually ask for a Kickstarter.
Now that they've come forward with their fans that they need the help, everyone on Facebook is like...ugghh I can live without the big budget tables. Feck it...if ya want the licensed tables, I guess ya gotta hope it comes out on FP or just buy the machine itself..*if you can find it.

I would hold off on buying Cirqus Voltaire until the next update due to some serious bugs in that one...
You can still try it for free since it's the "table of the month" though..

I picked them up on the iphone. Lots of fun, and, where Funhouse is concerned, it really lets you see what good job Drakko did with his recreation. He really nailed it.
Voltaire isn't unplayable, just some little quirks here and there, and a funky camera issue at the start of multiball. It's frustrating, but still fun.
