|Post subject:||Stuttering Caused by Invalid Entries on BAM "Lights" Screen|
Rav and I discovered that if you enter negative values on the "Lights" screen in BAM, you can get stuttering of the ball during a game. When there is a negative value for any of the lighting parameters, BAM constantly adds entries into the "OpenGLdbg.log" file that is saved to the BAM folder. This process ends up using so much memory that it causes stuttering. You can also end up with a "OpenGLdbg.log" file that is impossibly large and you will have to delete it. It would be nice if Rav could add the name of the table to the log so you tell which table is causing the problems described in the log. Currently, the only way you can know which table is causing the errors is to delete the log and play a single table and then check the log before playing another table.
You can press the left arrow key to change the lighting parameters to go below 0. There is nothing to stop you from going negative. A negative value appears to look the same as 0 on the table but you will get stuttering as I described above.
To change parameters on any screen, you can press the left and right arrow keys to raise and lower the number (as you probably know). You can also hold down your Shift key and press the left and right arrow keys to change the numbers very rapidly. You can also type the number and decimal into the parameter selected.
