So what you can try is taking his table.cfg file from one of his tables and renaming with your
tablename. ...

I have tried some of Monnezza's CFG files on other tables. I have found his settings are so dark they are pretty much unusable for me. I tried upping the brightness and contrast to see if the other settings would work and they did not. His settings for the Buccaneer table were set to be lighter than Abra Ca DaBra and Medieval Madness but this table was still too dark for me. I guess if you like extremely dark tables, his settings might work for you.

I have actually found the default works reasonably well.

I still can not fully understand this file CFG.....what actually it is, but one thing I'm sure, that monnezza, has configured the lights, for that type of table.....

in that buccaneer table, there are things done for that kind of configuration,(look well, with a constructor eye :D ) and therefore you can not use in other table, in my opinion, every table, just, must have its right configuration.....and right this that interests me, create a optimal lighting configuration.

our lights, and flash, have a painful system, that glow that you see is too bad....the reflection of the flashes, creates only confusion in the table, it is not beautiful homogeneous.

I recently learned the on-off lighting system(light-image)I was able to see, with great regret, that in the new renderer mode of bam, they need a drastic intervention to improve them....

this is what I would like to learn, be able to fix, the hideous glow of the flash, and make the lights on-off, (light-image) much better, logically USING BAM :D

a nice thing is, that someone make a nice explanation, simple and with few words, and with some demos.....about the light.....and I also add that it is also out of the subject for physics

it is here that the donkey falls, who would do this??????

I have thought about writing a guide on lighting but I don't just know enough about it. I could look up the definition of each parameter but would be unable to tell how to set it up.

With that said, my experience is that it often does not work to try make a table lighter by making adjustments to the lighting. You definitely cannot change the lighting on a night version of a table to make it lighter. You can adjust the light position and the light source parameters to make a dark area on the table lighter but it doesn't work very well at all. You really need to change or replace the playfield texture and possibly the plastics. I have found you really can't fix problems with the playfield and plastics with changes to the the lighting. I have never liked the lighting on "Bride of Pinbot" or the Data East version of "Back to the Future". Both versions of the table were "Day" versions but they still didn't look right. I worked at changing the lighting many times. I found the fix was actually to change the texture for the playfield on both tables. Once I had the playfield looking the way I wanted, the default lighting worked just fine. My thinking is that if the textures for the table are right, you can use the same settings for lighting on all your tables.

On "Back to the Future", I changed the playfield to another texture in the texture manager. I changed "!BTTF_pf" to "test_pf2" and I think it looks much better. I don't recall what I did to fix "Bride of Pinbot".

Although you can't make a dark table lighter, you can make a light table darker. In fact, you can create a night version of a table using the defaults on the lights option. I have found that the night version of a table done this way looks reasonably good although someone I know that likes night versions of tables tends to prefer ones that have been manually created.

@for gimli...I mean, who does this explanation.....the donkey that falls, is a saying, in america and canada, you all, use several :D not today, nobody at home......

I asked if there was someone able to explain how to improve the lights, the flashes, and everything I said before.

@for george......I understood your point of view, which you are inclined to do the mods, but I said a whole other thing, I said, that our lights, and flash, even on a FP, standard, are not optimal, and I asked if , with bam, we could improve, I did not say to make the tables dark or clear, no ..... improve the glows, the HALO, which focus all on one point .... but maybe I'll explain, badly..... ;)

for gimli....bob,I keep trying your demos, it works, Flaming Ball ..... CustomBalls Advanced, sometimes it closes .... FancyBallTracking, does not want to know to work, it crashed always.....if someone else tries, let me know if it works for you..... :?

I think the best we can do is to check "Flares on Flashers" and "Flares on Playfield Lights". Then set "Hardware Lights to Use" to 7. All of this is on the Video / Rendering Options screen in the FP editor but you probably already knew this.

You may have the same problem popotte had with xBAM.SetTexture causing it to crash...
I wonder if it matters whether BMP, JPG or TGA are used on your computers?

Popotte couldn't run Creatures of the Black Lagon for this reason....
If you can find the crash log file in your BAM directory that would help
