I hope Paolo will finish this table....I have done a ton of work trying to get "Catch the princess" to work.
If he doesn't at least I learned some new tricks.
Here was the challenge: 1. Have a game ball bouncing around that bounces off mario 2.Have the princess fall from three different places 3.She needs to partially stick to the mario platform, in that when you move mario, she will go with him 4.But she also has to behave like a lemming and move independently of mario a little 5.She has to die if she falls off the mario platform or if you don't catch her. 6.She isn't affected by the game ball bouncing off her...
Solution: create 2 independent vertical playfields with different attributes and superimpose them 1. one playfield for game ball 2. Second playfield for princess 3.Princess is actually a toy attached to a ball (Princess Ball) 4.The princess ball is set to not bounce so you can capture her 5.she will roll left or right if nudge left and right 6.To get her to appear to stick to the mario plaform, I created a illusion by simply moving the whole princess playfield to left or right (and there is a XBAM miniplayfield setting for Inertia = 0 , the princess ball is not affected when her playfield is moved) 7. The final step is adding magnets that will pull her toward the exits so she behaves like a lemming.
In the video above , I toggled the magnets on and off at various times...you may notice it particulary when I catch the princess on either the right or left sides..if she immediately starts moving the magnets are on...I started the video with them off.

I am completely amazed. If someone had outlined the requirements to me before you produced this, I would have said that it can't be done.
Thanks George, The inertia=0 was a cool feature I spent a whole day trying to contain the princess when I moved her playfield back and forth with all sorts of guides and crap before I discovered Ravs code

Hello guys,
just a question. I create a mini playfield as an entire backglass, but I have some problems. I use the same .tga back glass mask, but the color are really not the same and I have problem with transparency. Normal? Thanks in advance for advices, answers, ...
First pic: right, BAM with mini PF as BG, left back glass mask Second pic: BAM without mini PF (so, normal table). Click on pics to enlarge them.

I also had problems managing transparency in minipf. I'm working on "Cirqus Voltaire" and I solved it like this: On BG I put the background. On the minipf (same measures of BG, thickness 3cm) I put the image TGA with the transparencies. then I support the minipf in front of the BG. I hope I was clear. If you have other problems contact me via PM. Greetings
Thanks to Ravarcade for fixing some bugs in BAM. I think I have the vertical playfield solved.
1.I added the bingo game that makes the brick dissapear 2.Really all that needs to be done is some sounds when princess dies, fine tuning of physics and magnets a little etc.. and having ball exit to the main playfield
