Rafal,

I have discovered another problem. When I play the "Transformers" table or "Gorgar" without using any custom balls, the balls color never changes color as they should when I have the table rotated 270 degrees. I was using the "New Renderer" light system. Can you fix this?

George

I found problem. Please test this BAM.dll:
http://www.ravarcade.pl/debug/BAM.dll

I tester only Gorgar, but problem was "simply" and it should work everywhere.
It may also solve prevoius ball brighness error on "Flame Reaper ULTRA 1.02" using Miownkhan's "Fireball".

Rafal,

Both the "Transformers" and "Gorgar" tables have balls that are colored now although the color is darker when the screen is rotated 270 degrees than when it is set to 0 degrees. The brightness problem on "Flame Reaper ULTRA 1.02" using Miownkhan's "Fireball" is still there.

Thanks, It is an improvement.

I double checked both, Gorgar and Flame Reaper and i don't see difference.
We need to use same conditions in test to make any progress. So here is my "test conditions":
1. Gorgar table.
2. FP Video/Rendering Options: Preset = Maximum.
3. Checkbox Arcade mode is on. I test in BAM Arcade mode.
4. Ball is over plunger.
5. I set in Table & Lighting menu i set:
Table translation to: x=-235, y=380, z=200,
Table scale to: x=y=z = 5.0
Table angle to: -45 deg. (minus 45 deg).
6. In Gorgar script i set ball color in "CreateNewBall" routine (line: 429). For example i set color: 128, 255, 128 (bright green)
7. I test only New Renderer (old FP renderer will never draw correctly if table is rotate).

See screenshots:
http://www.ravarcade.pl/debug/Gorgar-settings.png
http://www.ravarcade.pl/debug/Gorgar-no-rot.png
http://www.ravarcade.pl/debug/Gorgar-rot.png

I don't see any brighness difference.

If you can find any other set of conditions, where that difference is visible, please let me know.

Rafal,

I have found the culprit. I have always left the Video/Rendering Options for "Arcade Mode" turned off (unchecked) and used the forced arcade mode in BAM. When I put a check mark in "Arcade Mode", the color of the ball was the same when the table was at 0 degrees or 270 degrees. The color was the same regardless of rotation on the "Transformers" table, "Gorgar" and on the "Flame Reaper ULTRA 1.02" table using Miownkhan's "Fireball".

Unfortunately, I need to leave the Video/Rendering Options for "Arcade Mode" unchecked and use BAM forced arcade mode. I use BAM in a way that most people probably don't. I need to be able to see the backboard in addition to the table. When "Arcade Mode" is unchecked, the backboard doesn't work. I use the BAM set up described on this forum page:

viewtopic.php?f=84&t=5451

I tried your Table & Lighting menu settings but I couldn't see the table on screen. It turns out these settings didn't make any difference on the ball color.

@George
Please send me .cfg file and screenshot with FP Video/Rendering Options.
My last guess is, that it happend only with 2 displays. I will check it today.
---
I checked with second display, no errors.
So here are my current tests settings:
1. Gorgar table.
2. FP Video/Rendering Options:
- Preset = Maximum.
- Checkbox Arcade mode is off.
- On second screen is backbox
3. In BAM:
- Forced Arcade Mode.
- New Renderer
4. In Gorgar script i set ball color in "CreateNewBall" routine (line: 429). For example i set color: 128, 255, 128 (bright green)

I can change display rotation and ball looks always exactly same.

Thanks ravarcade :D

Slamt1lt's new release Superman ULTIMATE 1.04 has balls that changes color.
I do not know when it quit working, but with latest test BAM.dll it now works. :P

Table can be downloaded from
http://speak1970.wix.com/slamspinballemporium
or https://www.mediafire.com/?pq6tc86ahz77x4o

I also made a custom ball for Superman. It is a silver ball with Superman logo. The ball will change to blue and green when playing, logo is still visible.

I'm sorry. I made a mistake. I should have said:

When "Arcade Mode" is checked, the backboard doesn't work.

These are my settings. I frequently change between 0 and 270 degrees rotation. The screen shot shows 0 rotation but for this testing, I had it set to 270.

Image

I tried Gorgar and Transformers today when I was in 270 degree mode. When I had Forced Arcade Mode turned on, the ball was not necessarily brighter but it had a halo around around the ball that makes it look lighter. When I turned Forced Arcade Mode off, the halo went away so it looks darker. Flame Reaper with the custom fireball still looks like the screen shots I made on Dec 24 and posted on this topic. Anyway, I have attached the CFG files for both Flame Reaper and Gorgar.

I tried your configs

I am using the test version of BAM
http://www.ravarcade.pl/debug/BAM.dll
I tested with Gorgar - HELLFIRE Edition ULTIMATE 1.01 and Flame Reaper ULTRA 1.02
I tested in 270 degree mode and used Forced Arcade Mode on\off.
I played using my "Fireball" and also without any custom balls.

Gorgar seemed OK to me.
Its a darker table which equals a darker ball. The ball changes colors, it gets burnt for an even darker ball and also turns red (bloodball ?).

In Forced Arcade Mode on\off there are some difference in ball pattern and coloring. I believe coloring is do to difference camera angles and lighting. Again using the provided Gorgar.cfg
Pattern difference is miner, but could be an issue.

Flame Reaper ULTRA 1.02 worked well. I seen you adjusted the Lighting to make the ball really Bright.
I noticed in Forced Arcade Mode on you have "Custom" lighting in use.
In Forced Arcade Mode off you have "Default" lighting in use.
When I used your "Custom" lighting in Forced Arcade Mode off they looked the same as far as coloring goes.
There again is a miner pattern difference.

I took Pics (using Bam) of Gorgar and Flame Reaper
Forced Arcade Mode on\off -
I included modified version of GeorgeH's Configs with lighting matches for Forced Arcade Mode on\off

https://www.dropbox.com/s/tpvptn4rxw00c ... s.zip?dl=0
5 pics and 2 CFG = 11.84 MB

@miownkhan
Thanks for tests and screenshots.

@GeorgeH, @miownkhan
I'm now 99.9% sure, that ball colors are ok and rendered with and widthout Forced Arcade Mode same way.
Prove:
With George .cfg for Gorgar.
See screenshots from miownkhan and look at flipper rubber color. They are different with Forced Arcade Mode than without it. Why? Because settings are different.
I had to check params in Postprocessing menu, they are different. No wonder colors on ball and on other elements are different.

Thanks Guys.

I tried Miownkhan's CFG files and you are correct. My set up was hosed. With Miownkhan's set up, the balls looked the same in Forced Arcade Mode turned on or off in both 0 and 270 degrees rotation. I'm sorry for the confusion I caused.
