I use FP on a desktop PC but tilt my monitor 90 degrees and use Static Cam. I think most of the CAB guys use Static Cam. The specific values depend on which table you play. The author of the table can set the length and width to what they want. However, I tend to think you get better results if you leave the scaling settings on 1.0 if you can. You can normally use the other controls to make the table fit your screen without using scaling. There are a few tables that are quite wide like "Galaxia" where you may have no choice but to use the scaling.

Of course, you could still leave the scaling settings on 1.0 even on wide tables if you leave some empty space on the top and bottom of the screen.

If you leave the scaling set to 1.0, there will pretty much be only one group of setting that will fill your screen (though it will take more work). To my thinking, scaling creates artifacts.

I have found that quite a few tables have the same proportions as "Lord of the Rings". I suggest you set this table up first and get it the way you want. Then save the settings as default on BAM. This will give you a good place to start on the next table and you may not have to adjust anything.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm actually using the FP mode. I tried the Static Cam but I have the ball very small and everything smaller that with FP mode.

I use a 40' TV as playfield.

I would like to know some X.Y.Z value of some members in Static Cam to make better test, because I'm not able to have a better view that the FP mode.

I only use Static Cam. I don't have any experience with the FP cam.

Can someone else help?

So if you use Static Cam, what are the value of your XYZ camera ? I have the ball very small comparing with FP view.

Anyone else ?

These are the settings on Lord of the Rings:

X = 0
Y = 1274.3
Z = 532.7

I don't really get how that is going to help you. The values are different for each table although the above settings are pretty close to being the same on The Addams Family. Apollo 13 has these settings:

X = 0
Y = 1145.4
Z = 191.9

Plus I set my tables up so they are a bit narrower on top than on the bottom. It helps the perspective on a vertical monitor.

Opps!!! I told you above to set scaling to 0 (zero). I should have said 1.0. So X, Y and Z on the Scaling parameters should be 1.0. I revised the posting so someone else that reads it won't get confused. When you have scaling set to 1.0, there is only going to be one group of settings that work.

Sorry,

George
