I got thinking that the ringleader when he pops up, I think can be treated like the ball and chain but upside down :D

The fixed origin for the chain is from above , but for the ring leader it is on the playfield.
So I reversed a few coordinates and voila

I think this concept will work , if you put a plafyield surface on top and kicker, you can put a ball on top too.

Here is a test of the concept:

Here is my progress on the Ring Master from Cirqus Voltaire.

There are some bugs in BAM currently but here is the idea
1.use one "miniplayfield" to create illusion of Ring leader rising and falling
2.use another "miniplayfield" to make a collidable bobble head Ring Leader
3.Superimpose the two to make it seamless (Currently I have one slightly larger, just to show the effect and conceal the other other one

Challenges:
1. Current BAM makes it very difficult to adjust, move the Ring Leader to desired location
and still have the bobble effect working properly, Ultimately the "Dummy" Ringleader that rises/falls, won't be needed
2. A Magnetic Field effect would be nice to grab the ball and start the process and to raise the hidden large ball out of the way when not using bobble head effect
3.Make the bobble head effect more bouncy...

Anyway just some ideas :D

This idea seems to be progressing nicely:
The Ring Master Illusion (Really Same Idea as Chain Illusion for Junkyard)
1.Create a large invisible ball, held captive by an invisible circular wall
2.Assign the Ring Master Object to the invisible ball, so it moves when the ball is hit
3.Un-assign the Ring Master and treat it as a static "miniplayfield" object that you animate
to raise and lower.
4.Have a playfield surface layer on top so you can have a kicker to create and destroy a ball

Challenges remain:
1. Forcefield to capture playfield ball to start process that calls for Raising up of Ring Master
2.Forcefieldl to capture and raise invisible large ball out of way when Ring Leader down

I believe Ravarcade is working on "Magnetic Fields" to raise and move balls, so if this can be accomplished it will almost certainly solve the above...

Nice stuff! Is this table close to finished, when the magnet field is added?

I haven't checked what needs to be done, it is unfinished.

I hope Gianfranco completes it . He may choose to go in a different direction

This Ringmaster mod is just an idea that came from your request to make the wrecking ball in Junkyard swing

I am always looking for ways to demonstrate and test BAMs potential

I believe it could be fine -tuned in terms of the "bobble effect" and a 3D toy could be used instead of current flat cylinder head

I am not sure yet if this table table had other mechanical toys that need animating

I also have tweaked the Crane and Wrecking Ball a little
Thanks Paolo for the sound file !

The Crane arm will now flip when ball is struck head on , as per real table...
The wrecking ball will swing to contact all the targets now :D

For anyone that is interested, here is a low res, video tutorial that I made a while back
before I figured out which video editing software to use.

Rav's BAM Miniplayfield mod , continues to evolve, so a bunch of stuff is not included.
It will at least give people a starting point.

Older versions of BAM will not have some of the features illustrated on this video.
