ok, I said I would start a new topic for this once I had any information.

I have updated the class I wrote to put the relevant data onto the 128x16 DMD to pass across to the LedWIZ board, and have added some of the code to the DLL.

from the log in the latest run

FP Intercept Log. Version : 0.2 Compile Date: Jan 7 2013 Run on: Tue Jan 08 23:55:34 2013

===================================================
Could not find pinDMD
Trigger located 24
Stencil located 4
LedWIZ control located 41
LedWiz Data 40, 0, 0, 80, 7
===================================================
Log End.

what this shows is that it locates the relevant texture in the data stream, and then decodes the on/off data and the global pulse speed (in my code it sets port 2 and 25 on and sets the speed to 7)

still need to decode the power array (easy) add in the calls to the LedWIZ DLL (relatively easy) and then test it all out (trickier, need to add some LED's to the LedWIZ board so I can see what it is doing) and then debug (nasty if it doesn't just work)

Steve: I have some contractors that I think I will never use. You can have a couple of them if you wish, no charge. The contractors are what most use when setting up the ledwiz for the shaking.

Macro : outstanding, Even though I may/may not use them, so many people swear by them, and once again, this was thought to be near impossible. Keep up the great work.

ok, first question for you, for the generic class to work we all need to have a custom include file that defines a set of 'standard' fittings - so what should be in the list!

basically name = port number, if you don't have a particular item, then you just set it equal to 33 and it will be ignored

RightFlipperRelay = 1
LeftFlipperRelay=2
ReplayKnocker=3
ShakerMotor=33
StartButton=4

etc.

then, in the table code you can just have the command LedWIZ.SetOn(StartButton) and it should work no matter who's cab it is running on as it as the include file sorted that bit out.

Maybe add "GearMotor", "BumperRelay", "BackBoxLighting",
The BackBoxLighting might just be a general term for the Cree LED's that everyone seems to be putting in their cab, granted the lighting seems like something the user can customize to his own cab I guess.

finished writing the code, now need to connect some LED's up and test that it does what it looks like it is doing!

FP Intercept Log. Version : 0.2 Compile Date: Jan 9 2013 Run on: Wed Jan 09 15:34:42 2013

===================================================
Could not find pinDMD
LedWIZ Device added
Trigger located 24
Stencil located 4
LedWIZ control located 41
LedWiz Power 1=34, 32=2f
LedWiz Data 40, 0, 0, 80, 7
===================================================
Log End.

I can't believe this is actually happening, this is going to be so awesome. I really need to order my board now. Thanks Macro!

I added a couple of LED's to the LedWIZ (logically enough) and have tested the new code.

result is - it works!

with a simple bit of code on a timer using the calls for the class, it flashes the LED on and off at regular intervals, so seems to work. Not tested the power setting, but no reason I can think of why that should not be working.

Code:
Sub Timer1_Expired()
   Timer1.Enabled = False

   i = (i + 1) mod 2

   adddebugtext("i = "&i)

   if i=1 then
      LedWiz.SetOn 19
   else
      LedWiz.SetOff 19
   end if

   Timer1.Interval = 1000
   Timer1.Enabled = True
End Sub

to make it work you basically need a few things - the new DLL (with pinDMD1 support and LedWIZ support), the ledwiz.dll. the class I knocked up for the test, the binary font and some triggers to make it happen!

file attached so you can all have a play!
